AT LAKE SAROCK
WELCOME TO LAKE SAROCK
Fishing has always been a keen interest and hobby for Lake Owner Ockham Songhurst. The idea of sitting by a quiet and still lake is relaxing and comforting, yet exciting after every catch. Therefore, after many years, discussions and arguments, Husband and Wife Team - Ockham and Sara Songhurst, decided to share this passion by exploring Soissons, France and finding the perfect location - Lake Saraock.
With a vision in mind, Ockham quickly headed off to France to turn his dreams into reality. Unfortunately, the Lake had been neglected for many years, leaving it over grown and in need of some TLC. Therefore, with his cutters, lawnmower and chainsaw, Ockham set to work with his team to transform the Lake into what it is today. Every cut was precise and all the swims were built by hand. It has to be seen to be believed.

Lake Sarock is an exclusive fishing venue for a maximum of 4 anglers in Northern France, just 2 hours 30 minutes from Calais.
​
It is a totally private estate, which is surrounded by other private lakes, and French countryside. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy the very best fishing in truly unspoilt and tranquil surroundings.

The lake itself is under 2 acres in size, and has 4 dedicated swims, on the right hand side of the lake. At the back on the left there is a larger jetty which can also be used to fish from. As well as the swims the whole area at the front is available to fish from should you wish too.

The entire perimeter of the land around the lake is fenced with large gates to gain access to it, for easy access and security.
​
Please note we do not supply food packages, however, the local town Soissons is a mere 10 minute drive. Here you will find all the local supermarkets, restaurants, pubs ect.

FISH​
​
Before we purchased the lake back in 2014 the previous owners stocked the lake with Carp. Which were between 20 to 30lb. We were told that there were a variety of fish that were already in lake which vary in size and species.
​
We already know that there is in the lake, Mirror Carp, Grass Carp, Common Carp, Sturgeon, Tench and Cat Fish. All which vary in size.
​
The lake record currently stands at 54lb which was a mirror carp.

FACILITIES
​
Located at the from of the lake there is a lodge. A place you can call home, as it has all the creature comforts you have at home right on your doorstep. The spacious lodge includes; Kitchen Area, which has hot/cold water, oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and breakfast bar. You don't even need to worry about cups, plates forks etc as it has this all. All you need to bring is your food for the week. It has a bathroom area, which has hot/cold water, electric shower, sink, and toilet. All you need to remember to bring is your towels, and toiletries. There is a Sleeping/Lounge Area, which has a double sofa bed, 2 armchairs, television and DVD player. Lastly there is a bedroom which has 2 single beds in. Linen, pillows, quilts etc is provided by yourselves.

Outside the front of the lodge, there is a sheltered area with seating, and also has a BBQ for when you want to eat alfresco.
​
Not only is there a lodge but also on site there are 2 practical caravans with plenty of sleeping space, should you prefer to sleep there.
​
Most fishermen and fisherwomen bring their own tents/bivvys. There is plenty of space around the lake for you to pitch up and sleep under the stars.
